Delete your my-diet.ai account

You can permanently delete your my-diet.ai account and its associated data from the app or request deletion without access to the app.

Request deletion outside the app

  1. Email support@my-diet.ai, preferably from the email address connected to your account.
  2. Use the subject “Delete my my-diet.ai account” and include the email address connected to the account. Do not send your password.
  3. We may ask you to verify that you own the account before deletion.

Email an account deletion request

Delete your account in the app

  1. Open my-diet.ai and sign in.
  2. Open Account.
  3. Scroll to the account actions and select Delete account.
  4. Verify your identity and confirm permanent deletion.

In-app deletion is normally completed immediately after successful verification. Email requests are completed without undue delay and generally within 30 days after we verify account ownership.

Data that is deleted

Deletion removes or de-identifies data associated with your account, including:

  • Your authentication account, email address, and profile information.
  • Saved meal plans, generated recipes, shopping lists, favorites, dietary preferences, allergies, foods to avoid, and account settings.
  • Pending and rejected recipe-photo submissions.
  • Newsletter preferences associated with the deleted account.

Data that may be retained

  • Accepted recipe photos may remain published under the credit “Anonymous My-diet.ai user.” We remove the account connection, email address, display name, and social link. You may also request removal of the photo through support.
  • Limited transaction, accounting, fraud-prevention, security, or legal records may be retained only for as long as required by law or reasonably necessary for those purposes.
  • A restricted report or photo-removal record may retain the uploader's internal account identifier and original upload and consent timestamps for as long as reasonably necessary to investigate abuse or establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
  • Deleted information may remain temporarily in secured backups or logs until it is overwritten under our normal retention cycle. It is not restored to the active service after deletion.

Subscriptions are separate

Deleting your my-diet.ai account does not cancel an Apple App Store or Google Play subscription. Cancel the subscription separately in your device's subscription settings to prevent future renewals.
